We are honored you are considering us for your mental health and medical needs. This page explains our intake process, services, and some of our practice policies for you to make an informed decision. We are only licensed in New York State and Massachusetts and therefore can only see patients who are located here or willing to travel here during appointment time. Our services are strictly via remote/video/telehealth appointments with concierge services for only IV Hydration.
We welcome all patients with out-of-network benefits. We can provide a superbill/invoice for you to seek reimbursement from your out-of-network insurance. New mental health clients can schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. For other services, schedule an appointment and submit required documents before your first visit. Contact admin@sonimedhealth.com for any questions.
Please note that scheduling an appointment does not establish a treatment relationship. A treatment relationship between yourself and provider begins when the actual appointment occurs via video conference also known as telehealth/telemedicine or concierge services.
Correspondence is done via your patient portal account through Charm Health and Spruce Health as they are HIPAA compliant and secure. You can ask questions about appointments, medications, treatment, side effects, and request refills on certain medications via the portal. You can also view your visit summaries and upcoming appointments on your Charm Health Patient Portal.
Messaging is not a substitute for actual treatment. If there is any in-depth portal communication regarding a particular concern, messages become too frequent or complex, then you will be asked to schedule an appointment.
Email should not be used for medical advice, prescription requests, or emergencies.
APPOINTMENT RULES
Please be sure to cancel at least 2 days (48 hours) prior to appointment to avoid any late charges.
All required forms and questionnaires sent to you via your provided email or patient portal must be completed before appointment time
Please provide us with at least 48-hour notice of appointment cancelation or rescheduling. This allows us to offer your spot to someone on the wait list.
There is a cancelation or no-show fee of 50% of scheduled appointment fee for patients who cancel less than 48 hours before an appointment or fail to attend their visit. You are financially responsible for appointments not cancelled or rescheduled with appropriate advance notice.
Late arrival (more than 10 minutes) for an appointment may result in cancellation or rescheduling. You may choose to use the remainder of your time left in your appointment, however there is no appointment time extension.
Repeated missed appointments without notification may cause you to be discharged from the practice so that we can provide care to others.
Before your appointment time:
You will need one of the following, a desktop, laptop, Ipad/tablet, or smart phone with a front facing camera and microphone capabilities. Test your computer or device to make sure it will work
Providers will be using Spruce Health for all telehealth sessions. Spruce Health is HIPAA compliant, secure, and encrypted. Please refer to instruction below this page on downloading and using the Spruce Health app.
We recommend using headphones if possible to increase privacy for you as well as reduce echo or mic cutout
A fast, reliable wifi or internet connection. If you have a poor internet service or slow speed, this may cause the video to lag or cut out causing a frustrating experience for you. We recommend internet speed of at least 10Mbps for downloads and uploads. An excellent way to check your internet speed is to go to speedtest.net and simply click "GO."
Make sure to be in private, and quiet area.
Before your initial Session: Be sure you have read and signed the Telehealth Consent form and all corresponding questionnaires and documents.
To track and access health records online, you will need to sign up through the charm health patient portal which we emphasize the importance of doing so before your initial and subsequent appointment. Please visit this link for detailed instructions: https://www.charmhealth.com/resources/phr-user-guide/introduction.html
Once you have created and logged into your Spruce Health patient portal. At the time of your video appointment, it is best to have the Spruce app or page open and logged in, ready to accept the video call. Click “accept” to the incoming call to begin your session.
For clients seeking mental health services, please make sure to maximize your front facing lighting and minimize lighting behind you to make easier for your provider to see you clearly. Also have most of you upper torso visible which will help your provider pick up on any non-verbal cues which will help in assessment and streamlining your treatment.
