Opioid Addiction Treatment
Acknowledging a problem is the first step in beating opioid addiction. Seeking help is the next crucial step. Opioid addiction is widespread in the U.S. and worldwide. Treatment involves a comprehensive approach. Although recovery is possible, withdrawal can be daunting. SONIMED recognizes the dangers and symptoms of opioid withdrawal. There's no universal solution, but recovery often includes Medication-Assisted Treatment, therapy, support groups, and a strong support network to ease symptoms and prevent relapse. Treatment aims to address both physical dependence and underlying causes of addiction. In our practice, we use Suboxone to help individuals with opioid addiction regain control and look forward to a drug-free future.

What is Suboxone
Suboxone is a prescription medicine for treating opioid addiction. It blends buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine eases withdrawal signs and curbs cravings, while naloxone prevents abuse by neutralizing opioids' effects when taken correctly. While overdosing risk is less than methadone, it's still possible. Mixing Suboxone with alcohol or benzodiazepines raises overdose chances. This therapy lessens withdrawal discomfort without the intense high of opioids. Taken as a dissolving film or tablet under the tongue or beside the cheeks, it offers balanced relief. Coupled with counseling, Suboxone aids in long-lasting recovery by tackling addiction's root causes, breaking the cycle. This holistic approach empowers users to reclaim their lives, fostering hope. Suboxone is a beacon for those grappling with opioid addiction, offering transformative support.
Difference between Suboxone and Methadone
Suboxone is a combination drug that contains buprenorphine and naloxone, whereas methadone consists solely of methadone hydrochloride.
Methadone is given daily at clinics due to its potential for misuse, whereas Suboxone can be self-administered at home after a doctor's prescription.
Methadone stays in the body longer and needs careful dose monitoring, providing all-day relief. Suboxone's effects plateau to reduce the risk of overdose and is less likely to cause severe breathing issues compared to methadone.
Suboxone can be prescribed by our provider at SONIMED. This allows patients to self administer Suboxone in the comfort of their homes.
If your goal is to overcome opioid addiction, please schedule an appointment with our licensed provider who incorporates Suboxone in addition to therapy. -
These sessions are conducted using secure video conferencing platform through Spruce Health that ensure client confidentiality. The therapy sessions are similar to traditional in-person sessions and focus on understanding the underlying causes of addiction, developing coping skills, and fostering relapse prevention.
-
Personalized treatment plan which includes lifestyle changes and medication (Suboxone) is developed. Please note that we require all our patients being treated with Suboxone to produce a drug screening test before treatment begins as well as every month to promote compliance with the program.
